So, this weekend we went to York. Rented a car and took it up north for a bit. Got to socialize a bit, see some things and drive a car! Read on for a brief overview of the weekend.
As usual, when we got the car, we took full advantage of it, stocking up on loads of groceries. Well, we leave the car safe and sound in the parking lot, only to return to see that it had been side-swiped in the parking lot. Definitely NOT COOL. No worries though, because we weren’t charged when we returned it like we thought we would be. I guess they weren’t as upset about the red paint down the side as we were.
Anyway, with the weekend off to a good start already, we headed down the road Friday afternoon, and got into the York Marriott around 8. It was right by the racecourse and not too far out of town. We went to York mainly to celebrate our friend’s marriage, but did manage to get in a little sight-seeing. Not too much as we really just got to wander around York and gawk at the old buildings. I got some pictures this time round and they’re viewable in the gallery. York really is a nice place, it’s too bad we never seem to be able to spend much time there when we’re around.
The rest of Saturday was spent at Howard’s, which was a great time. Really good to see Howard again, and meet Alina finally. Pictures of Paul and the guys playing croquet are in the gallery as well.
We left on Sunday morning and got back home at a reasonable time. Good weekend, but way too short. Would have been nice to be able to spend some more time with folks and see a bit more of the area, but I guess we can’t have it all, can we?
