Roughing it
Finally, after months, and in fact a year of talking about it, Paul and I have gone ahead and bought a tent. We got it on sale, which was brilliant. I can’t wait till our first camping trip!
First thing we did when we brought it home was put it up – so when we arrive at the campsite late and tired, we know how to do it. We started in the living room, but had to move to our spare room when I thought we might put a pole through the TV! There was barely enough space in the spare room, but we had some fun crawling in and out of the tent to get to the door. Maybe we should have done that outside…

And yes, someone in the house does need a hair cut.

You do know that putting up a tent outside is completely different to putting up a tent inside your house??! Would suggest more practise – perhaps a local park? Gets you used to the other factors like wind, rain, darkness that hinder the process somewhat…

Oh you townie. It is only a real camping trip if the tent either falls down or blows away. Not to mention the arguments over how to put it up in the first place. There is no such thing as “Happy Campers”
