How quaint!
I noticed something here once while I was on my way to work. Some folks had bottles of milk at their front door. I questioned Paul about it and low and behold, found out that you can get milk delivered to your door. Of course I wanted to get milk delivered to MY door too! Well, it’s been a couple years, but I’m finally getting my wish.
What happened? Well, we live in a close, which means we notice when people that don’t belong are around. Yesterday I noticed that there was a strange man walking along behind the flats. I had no idea what he was doing, but pretty soon he’d made his way to ours. Paul opened the door to him – something I would never have done. He was going around asking if people wanted milk delivered, and we of course said yes. Although, due to Paul’s trusting nature, we have no idea where the man was from, what company he worked for, or even if they delivered anything besides milk. All we know is that some man has our name and address, is alledgedly delivering milk to us, and billing us if we don’t answer the door around ten on Saturday mornings, beginning in October. Now, I’m sure it will all be fine. After all, Paul did say the man “looked” like a dairy farmer!!
!!
We’re supposed to be getting two pints a week. One on Tuesday, the other on Saturday. Now, isn’t that the perfect compliment to my Abel and Cole delivery I get every Tuesday? I think it’s pretty neat, plus it gets me out of spending too much time at the grocery store, which invariably never has what I want, when I want it. Especially sour cream. It’s like they know that’s what I’m after and they just go and pull it off the shelves and then put it back when I leave. If I could get my milkman to deliver sour cream I may just be in heaven. Although I have found that greek yoghurt is a pretty decent substitute for baked potatoes.
Anyway, at this rate, all I’m going there for now is bread, meat and canned and frozen food, and that’s fine by me. Oh yeah, that’s where we get Paul’s chocolate fix too. We mustn’t forget that!
