Holy Socks, Batman!

It’s been cold here. Really cold. And we need a new boiler, because our current boiler doesn’t heat our house properly. No, I’m not freezing, but we’re not really warm either. There’s a definite chill in the air – in our living room, in our bedroom, certainly in our kitchen, and everywhere else we may be. It’s not entirely miserable, but not great, either. This does make one thing more enjoyable, though, and that’s my knitting. I’m very nearly finished with a pair of new socks! Check them out:

I’ve finally picked up my knitting again. I took about a five year hiatus from any sort of craft, mainly because I was so smitten with Paul and London that I didn’t have time, but also because these sort of things cost money. I finally finished a pair of socks I had on my needles for ages, and started these nice stripey ones. They’re rather pretty, and are moving along rather quickly for me. I’m halfway done with the second one on two circular needles, and am enjoying it. I had forgotten how much I liked working with this sort of stuff.

I bought this yarn on one of my first trips back to the States years ago, and I have another couple of skeins that I’d like to use up. Once that’s done though, I think I’ll try my hand at kilt hose. We’re in need of a pair to complete that section of the Kilt Project.
