Yee-haw
I’ve just finished reading Close Range: Wyoming Stories by Annie Proulx which I thought was a pretty good read. It’s a collection of short stories, all based in Wyoming. It’s not my usual pick of reads, but one of my co-workers recommended it.
I have to admit I was curious. I’ve seen her books around, picked them up and looked them over at the book store, but have never been tempted enough to buy one. Well, being handed a book for free made it a lot easier to read!
Like I said, it was a different kind of read for me. I liked it, though. Sometimes it’s nice to have a change. A collection of short stories, it was pretty colorful. She painted a pretty good picture and as a result, I’m not sure how quickly I want to take a trip to Wyoming! The short stories held my attention, though. and there was a reality and wryness throughout the stories.
